Westercove™ Welcome Disclaimer

Last updated: September 28, 2026

We are glad you are here, and we are sorry for what brought you.

Westercove™ is an interactive digital grief wellness companion combining grief education, guided journaling, and personalized support to help adults understand what they are experiencing and to put language around that which they may not yet know how to explain.

There are a few things we want you to know before you come in. Take them at your own pace. Nothing here is going anywhere.

Who you are talking to

You are talking with software, not a person. We tell you that first because you deserve to know who is on the other side of the screen before you share anything that matters to you.

What Westercove says to you is written by artificial intelligence. It can be wrong, incomplete, or miss what you meant, even when it sounds sure. Please check anything important with a person you trust or a qualified professional.

We offer grief wellness and education. We will not tell you what your grief means or how long it should take. We would rather say what we do not know than pretend otherwise.

Our place in your care

Westercove is support, not therapy or medical care. We do not diagnose, treat, provide clinical advice, or create a therapeutic relationship. We stand beside the professionals who care for you, not in their place. If you need professional support and have not found it, we will help you look.

Please never delay or skip care from a professional because of something you read here.

Your Grief Library is part of that support. Choose the books and resources you trust, or let us provide a library for you. When you need guidance or a practice to try, Westercove can draw from your library to support you.

Westercove is for adults age 18 and older.

If you need a person right now

Some things need a human voice, and software is not enough for them.

Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line.

Call 911 if anyone is in immediate danger.

These resources are always at the bottom of your screen. You never have to explain why you used them.

Westercove is not an emergency service. If the moment is urgent, please reach a person who can help now.

Westercove will not contact anyone for you, so please reach out yourself.

What this space will hold

Whether you are grieving yourself, a person, an animal, or a part of the life you once knew, your loss belongs here.

Sadness. Rage. Guilt. Dark humor. Complicated love. Hopelessness. Longing. Regret. Almost any shape grief takes.

You do not have to soften it or make it presentable for anyone, including us. You can even be angry with the person who died.

One thing we ask

This space can hold your love, hope, anger, hurt, and the things you cannot say anywhere else.

What it cannot hold is a threat to harm another person.

If something you write suggests that you, someone else, or an animal may be in danger, you may see crisis resources. Please use them if you need them. No software catches everything, which is why those resources are always within reach.

Your writing belongs to you

Not to us. Yours.

Your writing travels over an encrypted connection and is encrypted where it rests. Access is locked to your account.

Your words pass through the technology we use so Westercove can respond to you, including our AI provider, Anthropic. They are never used to train AI models.

We do not sell your writing or use it to advertise to you. If an organization pays for your access, they cannot read your words, your summaries, or how often you come here. They only learn that a seat was activated.

You can download your journal and, if you choose, share it with your healthcare provider so they can understand what you have been experiencing without you having to start from the beginning.

You can also delete your writing. If you cannot find how, write to us and we will help. You do not have to give us a reason.

A few promises

We will tell you the truth, including the parts that are hard to hear.

We will not use the word closure. We will not call this a journey. We will not say “at least,” tell you everything happens for a reason, or tell you that you can get another one.

We will use their name when you share it. We will sit with the silence.

There are no daily goals and no streaks to keep. Come back when you are ready. Use Westercove as much as you need, or not at all. Nothing here is keeping score.

Your beliefs belong here too. If faith, prayer, God, spirituality, or sacred language brings you comfort, bring it with you. If it does not, we will not bring it into the conversation. You choose what feels right.

You are welcome here. And you are welcome to feel what you feel.

Before you come in

Two small things, and then the space is yours.

I am 18 or older, and I agree to the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy.

I understand that Westercove™ is software offering grief wellness, education, and guided journaling, not therapy, medical care, or emergency services, and that its AI responses can be wrong. I consent to Westercove using what I write, which may include information about my health and wellbeing, as described in the Consumer Health Data Notice.
