Privacy Policy
Both documents, on one page, so there is only ever one link to hand anyone. Westercove™ is a general wellness product for adults 18 and older. It is not therapy, not medical care, and not an emergency service.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters, and here it matters deeply. This Privacy Policy explains what information Westercove collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
A Note on Sensitivity
Westercove is a place for grief, and what you share can be profoundly personal. We treat it with care and use it only to provide Westercove to you. Westercove is a general wellness product and is not a HIPAA-covered healthcare provider, so this Policy, rather than HIPAA, governs how we handle your information.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us: your account details (such as name and email), the content you create (journal entries, memories, photos, voice notes, and messages to the companion), and any support messages.
- Information collected automatically: basic usage and device information (such as browser or app type and general activity) to keep the service working and secure.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate Westercove, for example to save your journal, let the companion respond, and remember anniversaries.
- To keep the service secure and to improve it.
- To communicate with you, including service messages and, only if you opt in, our newsletter.
- To handle payments and provide support.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your private grief content to advertise to you.
3. AI processing
To provide the companion, your messages may be processed by artificial-intelligence systems, ours and trusted providers, solely to generate responses to you. We do not use your private content to publicly train models in ways that identify you.
4. How we share information
- With the companies that help us run Westercove, under confidentiality obligations and only as far as they need. They are Amazon Web Services, which hosts the service and handles sign-in and email; Stripe, which handles payments; GoHighLevel, which sends our mailings and receives only your name and email address, never your journal or your conversations; and the artificial-intelligence providers that let the companion respond.
- If you have sponsored access through an organization, we may share limited administrative information, such as that an access code was used, but never your private journals or conversations.
- For legal reasons, to comply with law, protect safety, or respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your data.
5. How we protect and keep your information
Your information is encrypted both while it travels to us and while it is stored. No system is perfectly secure, but we protect what you write with care.
We never hold your password or your card number. Signing in is handled by Amazon Web Services and payments by Stripe, so neither one ever reaches Westercove.
We keep your information while your account is active, and as long as we need it to provide Westercove and meet our legal obligations.
6. Your choices and rights
Deleting your account and exporting everything you have written are both built into Westercove. You do not have to ask us, and you do not have to wait.
Depending on where you live, such as California (CCPA) or the EU and UK (GDPR), you may have further rights, including access, correction, portability, and objection. For any of those, email support@westercove.com.
7. Children
Westercove is for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy; we will post the new version with an updated date. For any privacy question or request, email support@westercove.com.
