Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Westercove. These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Carter Leadership Solutions, LLC, the company behind Westercove (“Westercove,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using Westercove, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Westercove.
1. How Westercove Supports You
Westercove is a general wellness and educational product: a private, compassionate companion for adults navigating grief and loss, offering conversation, journaling, memory tools, structured practices, and curated resources.
2. When You May Need Additional Support
Westercove is not therapy, medical care, psychiatric or psychological treatment, counseling, or crisis intervention. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and it does not claim to detect your emotional or mental-health state. Using Westercove does not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, or other professional relationship. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for medical or mental-health concerns, and never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you experienced in Westercove.
3. The AI companion, and its limits
Part of Westercove is powered by artificial intelligence. The companion is software, not a human being, therapist, or counselor.
- AI can be wrong. It may give responses that are inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.
- The companion does not truly understand you, does not diagnose, and does not provide professional advice. It responds based on patterns in language.
- You are responsible for how you use its responses. Please use your own judgment and consult a qualified person when it matters.
4. Crisis and emergencies
Westercove is not a crisis or emergency service and is not monitored around the clock.
If you are in immediate danger, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call your local emergency number (911 in the United States) or go to the nearest emergency room now. In the United States, you can also call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) at any time.
Westercove includes safety features and may share crisis resources, but these are informational and are not a substitute for emergency services or professional help.
5. Who can use Westercove
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Westercove, and by using it you confirm that you are. Westercove is intended for your personal, non-commercial use.
6. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Please keep your information accurate, and tell us at support@westercove.com if you suspect any unauthorized use.
7. Your content stays yours
“Your Content” means the journal entries, memories, photos, voice notes, messages, and other information you create or upload. You keep ownership of Your Content; we do not claim it.
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide Westercove to you, for example to save your journal and show it back to you, and to let the companion respond. We do not sell Your Content. Please see our Privacy Policy for how we handle information.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it. Please do not upload anything unlawful, or another person’s private or health information without their permission.
8. Acceptable use
Please use Westercove only for its intended, lawful purpose. You agree not to break the law; harass or harm others; attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or copy the service; upload malware; or use Westercove to provide services to third parties without our permission.
9. Free trial, membership, and refunds
- Free trial. Westercove offers a 14-day free trial of the full companion. A valid payment method (such as a credit card) is required to start your trial. You will not be charged during the trial.
- First charge on day 15. Your paid membership begins and your first charge occurs on day 15, unless you cancel before then.
- Cancel anytime, no charge. You may cancel at any time before day 15 and you will not be charged. If you cancel after day 15, cancellation stops future charges and you keep access through the end of your current paid period.
- Membership. After the trial, membership is offered in two plans: one profile at $24.99 per month, or two profiles at $39.99 per month. You pay the price shown when you sign up, billed on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices may change with reasonable notice.
- Refunds. Because Westercove is a digital service, fees already charged are generally non-refundable, except where required by law.
- Discounted access (coupon codes). If you have a coupon or discount code, you can enter it when you sign up to reduce the price of your membership.
- Organization and sponsored access. An organization may purchase one or more Westercove licenses (seats), often in bulk, to provide to its employees, members, or clients at no cost to those individuals. This access follows the organization’s order or agreement with us, is subject to these Terms, and may end when that arrangement ends or when a seat is reassigned.
- Complimentary and test access. We may grant complimentary or evaluation access, for example so someone can test Westercove. Complimentary access is free, may be limited in time or features, and may be changed or ended at any time.
Payments are handled by third-party payment providers; by subscribing you authorize us and our processor to charge your payment method, and you agree to the processor’s terms.
10. Intellectual property
Westercove, including its name and logo, design, text, and features, is owned by Carter Leadership Solutions, LLC or its licensors and protected by law. Apart from Your Content, please do not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
11. Third-party links
Westercove may link to third-party resources, such as crisis lines or referrals. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
12. Disclaimers
Westercove is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content or AI response will be accurate or suitable for you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carter Leadership Solutions, LLC and its owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any emotional, psychological, or physical outcomes, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, Westercove, or your reliance on its content or AI responses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update these Terms; we will post the new version with an updated date, and continued use means you accept the changes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Questions about these Terms: hello@westercove.com.
